Born and schooled in England, Peter completed a five-year apprenticeship as a Journeyman Carpenter/Joiner. He set out with his box of tools and his bicycle to make his mark on the world. Immigrating to Canada in 1967, he landed in booming Calgary, Alberta, before moving to British Columbia some years later.
Peter has always been intrigued with reproducing items in a scaled-down version, and after playing with model trains for many years, he found himself with no trains and a workshop crying to be utilized. He began to make wooden reproductions of vintage vehicles starting with Fords, but has since ventured into many different models of vehicles. He loves the challenge of completing a commissioned piece, including the drafting through to the finished project.
Commissions include model T's, vintage paddy wagons for the Victoria Police Department, brother's favourite teen-age car, grandpa's memories of the farm, anniversary gifts of favourite family cars and many more moments in time that have been recreated for special people. He also enjoys the stories that go along with it!
Peter has used his years of working with his hands to hone his craftsmanship and can now express his passion for fine woods with his creations of wooden scale-model cars and toys. Great care is taken to ensure that the toys are safe and interesting for small children but... when it comes to the "Big Boy Toys", he thrives on incorporating as much detail and imagination as his craftsmanship will allow.
