Jacqueline Cornford was born and raised in Hastings, Sussex, England. She trained in Fine Arts and specialized in mural decoration and stained glass in London. For one year, she worked as a student in the commercial studio of artist Patrick Reyntiens, who executed the Baptistry window at Coventry Cathedral, and with John Piper, she co-designed and executed the glass at the Roman Catholic Cathedral of Liverpool.
Jacqueline travelled in Europe, visiting medieval cathedrals, museums, and studios of traditional and contemporary glass design. In England, she taught in private and public schools.
Arriving in Canada in 1973, Jacqueline taught Art and Special Education. She became interested in Museum Studies, and took some training in Conservation and Casting at the Centennial Museum in Vancouver and the Royal BC Museum in Victoria. Jacqueline also worked at the Heritage Conservation Branch of the Provincial Government of British Columbia.
An interest in the healing arts led Jacqueline to study herbs and alternative therapies, and she gained a certification in Sound Healing. Combining sound, light and colour as a therapy is another pursuit of interest.
Since 1998, she has had her own studio, exhibiting, teaching and working on her own projects in glass and painting.
