For artist / designer Shelley Barr "God is in the details" whether creating a textile wallhanging or a mixed media collage on canvas. And it's the attention to detail that makes the difference in her "unique creations".
Shelley lived in Victoria, B.C. for many years working in residential interior design, visual display and the art publishing field. But in 1993 she decided to make a life style change and opened her studio to begin designing "one of a kind" creations with luxury textiles and trims. And for many years Shelley sold her quilts, pillows and clothing through artisan shows and retail outlets on Vancouver Island.
After moving to the Comox Valley in 2004 her artwork began to change direction. Shelley was inspired to incorporate hand made papers, text and collage techniques in wallhangings, pillows and paintings. The art work continued to evolve to become an expression of her faith by including inspirational verses, spiritual themes and images.
Recently Shelley has developed a web site to show case her "unique creations". Where her current artwork is offered for sale and commissions are accepted.
