2010 IAA Photoshoot

Blanschard Community Centre, 901 Kings Rd., Victoria, B.C.

1st photoshoot: Saturday, January 30th, 2010, from 10:30am to 5pm

2nd photoshoot: Saturday, February 6th, 2010, from 10:30am to 5pm

Participation is on a first come first served basis with preference given to IAA members, and, unless space is still available, each person is restricted to only one photoshoot session. There are 14 spots per photoshoot, with a combined total of 28 over both the January 30th and the February 6th photoshoot. The cost per session is $30.00 per person for IAA members and $75.00 for non-members. The application deadline for either photoshoot is January 20th, 2010. Participants withdrawing from the photoshoot on or before January 23rd will receive a complete refund. Withdrawals after January 23rd will receive no refund.

A few days before the photoshoot, each participant will be contacted with the time of day his/her work is to be photographed. Each participant is allotted only 20 minutes to have their work photographed. The work will be photographed with a digital camera by professional photographer Bob Matheson, the same photographer we have relied on since the first photoshoot. Please bring any props deemed necessary to photograph the work properly. After the photos are taken, each participant is allotted only 20 minutes with the IT person, Steve Switzer, who, with the guidance of the participant, will tweak about 10 of the photographs and burn them to CD. The CD will contain all 10 selected and tweaked images in low resolution for e-mailing and/or thumbnails, and also in high resolution for brochures or rack cards, etc.. The CD is supplied by the IAA.

To participate in either of the photoshoots, please print the application form below, fill it out, sign the waiver and, together with a $30.00 cheque made out to Island Artisans Association (please write it out, as no abbreviations or any other monikers are accepted by the bank) mail it, post marked no later than January 20th, to:

Should you require more than one photo session, fill in another application, include a separate cheque and add it to your first application. If space is available, you will be accommodated. If there is no space, your cheque will be returned marked “Void”.

Agreement and Waiver:

I agree not to hold either the Island Artisans Association or any of its members or officers, nor the Blanchard Community Centre or any of its officers or personnel liable for any damage, loss or injury to any persons or property sustained by reason of any incident occurring in, about or during any IAA Photoshoot.

Cancellation policy: Withdrawing from any IAA photoshoot on or before January 23rd, 2010, will qualify for a full refund. Withdrawals after January 23rd 2010 will receive no refund.
